Ali quartz notice — According to an industry analyst study, demand for kitchen countertops in the United States will reach $37.1 billion in 2026.
According to the Freedonia Group’s Kitchen Countertops, production will increase 5.0% per year to 662 million ft2 in 2026, valued at $37.3 billion. Gains will be supported by a variety of factors, including:
- consumers trading up to more-expensive materials such as granite and engineered stone to improve home values
- trends for larger kitchens with more counter space;
- rising commercial construction; and extended backsplashes in kitchens using materials matching the countertops.
Following exceptionally high levels in 2021, new housing construction and home remodeling began to normalize in 2022. According to the study, this trend will continue into the forecast period, limiting even greater demand gains.
According to the study, engineered stone will overtake laminate as the most popular kitchen countertop material in the United States by 2021. By 2026, engineered stone will have significantly increased its market share, accounting for 44% of kitchen countertop demand.
Laminates will continue to fall out of favor, with more expensive materials such as natural stone replacing them.
Porcelain slab is expected to be the fastest growing kitchen countertop material, rapidly rising in popularity as an alternative to engineered stone and granite.
